In 1892 , the French painter and illustrator Gaston Vuillier fell under the spell of this enchanting place. Between 1893 and 1899 , he shaped the park by creating picturesque paths , stone staircases and spectacular viewpoints to admire the famous waterfalls. 🌊

🌊 The Montane waterfalls:
The park features three successive waterfalls totaling 143 meters in height :

  • The Big Jump – 45 m 🌟
  • La Redole – 38 m 🌿
  • The Horsetail – 60 m, plunging into the mysteriousInferno Pit 🔥

🏆 A classified site:
Thanks to the work of Gaston Vuillier, the site was classified among the first protected natural sites in France on May 23, 1912. 🇫🇷
